Probiotic Tabet to the second ferment?
I recently started to brew my own kombucha at home. I did my first batch and decided to do a second ferment. I added ginger to a few of them and for one I thought why not add a probiotic capsule (just the powder to it). Now 8 days later I decided to try the batch. The first one I tried was with the ginger in a mason jar it wasn’t that fizzy at all, however; the one with in a mason jar with the probiotic powder was super carbonated. I tried to find online if anyone else has done this or tried it but have you ever added a probiotic capsule to your second ferment? From what I could tell it seems like it really made it a lot more carbonated.
I now have the ez-cap bottles for my kombucha so I will not be using the mason jars again but I am still curious about the pros/cons or absolutely don’t do for adding a probiotic capsule to the second ferment. Any thoughts or advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I definitely am still trying to get the hang of brewing kombucha!
