- 1/4 cup of organic sugarcane, such at, or rapadura
- 1/8 teaspoon of sea saltrefined
- 1 liter of waterfiltered
- 1/2 teaspoon of molassesor 2 teaspoons of maple syrup
- 1/4-1/2 cup of water kefir grains
- 1/2 egg shellcleaned and broken
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

Dissolve the sugar
Cool the water
Set the mixture aside and allow it to cool to room temperatures
Pour into Jar
Add egg shells
Add water kefir grains
Place the kefir grains inside the jar with the egg shells and fill the jar up the rest of the way with water. Fill up to the top.
Place the lid on the jar
Place the jar in a dark area of your kitchen. The temperature of your kitchen will determine how long the kefir takes. If you do a lot of baking, cooking, or if it is summer time, it may just take as little as 24 hours.
Strain off the grains

Add two teaspoons of vanilla extract and stir.
