Aw, the tangy sweet taste of honey mustard. It is the perfect compliment to crispy homemade chicken fingers, delicious on salads, or for an add-on to creative vegetable medley. If you have always wanted to make honey mustard but don’t know how, you may find that this recipe is perfect for you. While honey mustard is  normally made with mayonnaise, this recipe is a healthy alternative and it uses ingredients that are healthy, such as honey, apple cider vinegar, and water kefir.

    Honey

You don’t have to climb a tree in order to obtain a little bit of fresh organic raw honey. You can now find it in many places including the organic section of a grocery store. If you can link up with your local farmers market, you will also be able to get in touch directly with a bee keeper who can then sell you a comb or two. Honey is a natural sweetener that can add the sweetness we crave to any dish we want. In fact, choosing honey over white refined sugar is beneficial at any time. Use honey to sweeten your tea or to add to a hot biscuit. Honey has natural ingredients that can help prevent ulcers, cancer, and heart disease. It also containers anti-fungal properties and can help heal wounds due to its antibacterial properties. If you have a nagging cough, a tablespoon of this golden delight will help quiet it. Cooking with honey is easy to do. Anytime a recipe calls for sugar, add honey instead.

    Water Kefir

Water kefir is a beverage that contains probiotics which are beneficial in so many ways. Water kefir can also provide the body with added vitamins and nutrients to create a balanced digestive system. In addition to vitamins, water kefir also has good bacteria as well as enzymes; both are needed for the stomach to digest foods properly.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

Whether you like or dislike the taste of apple cider vinegar, it has so many benefits to consuming it that you may find a way to overcome your dislike. Apple Cider Vinegar brings healing properties with every teaspoon you consume.  It has important ingredients such as potassium, magnesium, and acetic acid. This acid actually kills the bad bacteria it comes into contact with, making it a natural antibiotic that you can consume without a prescription. Apple cider vinegar can be used for acid reflux, the regulate your blood sugar, help lower your blood pressure, regulate the Ph in your body, help with weight loss, whiten teeth and more.

    Dijon Mustard

Dijon mustard is different from yellow mustard. Dijon mustard originates from a place in France called Dijon. While it doesn’t have lots of powerful nutrients, it has a very distinct flavor with few calories. Dijon mustard doesn’t contain large amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, sugar, fats, or fiber. It does contain about 120 milligrams of sodium though so you should use it carefully when preparing dishes that call for this type of mustard.
