Lemonade Flavor Water Kefir
Everyone loves the great taste of lemonade in their drink on a hot summer day. To make this recipe, you will need to create a glass of water kefir using the recipe above. Remove the kefir grains from the water kefir and add one-fourth cup of lemon juice per quart. Place in the refrigerator to chill before serving.
Vanilla Flavor Water Kefir
Follow the recipe above to create water kefir. Remove the kefir grains then add two teaspoons of vanilla extract for every quart of water kefir. Place the drink into the refrigerator and chill it for at least one hour before serving.
Orange Flavor Water Kefir
For this recipe, you will be using orange zest. Use the peeling from an organic orange. Cut half of the orange peel into strips and add to 8 ounces of water. Add 1 Tablespoon of sugar, refined and stirred. Add kefir grains and allow to ferment for 1-2 days. Remove the orange strips and kefir grains. Place the finished water kefir in the refrigerator to completely chill before serving.
Pomegranate and Blueberry Flavor Water Kefir
Using recipe above, create a batch of water kefir. Remove the kefir grains from the water when it has fermented. Then add one-half cup of pomegranate juice and one-half cup of blueberry juice for every quart of water kefir. Refrigerate until cold and then serve.
Raspberry Juice Flavor Water Kefir
Purchase one quart of raspberry juice, organic. Pour the kefir grains into the raspberry juice. Ferment for 24-48 hours. Remove the kefir grains from the juice and place it in the refrigerator to chill.
Soda Water Kefir
Soda is great but you can’t find a healthy soda however you can make soda water kefir with this recipe. Make water kefir following the recipe above. Remove the kefir grains. In a quart sized container, pour water kefir ¾ of the way. Add fruit juice to fill up the rest of the jar. Seal up the quart sized container and allow it to ferment for twenty-four to seventy-two hours. After the time is up, place the container inside the refrigerator and chill completely before serving. Note: Open this container slowly and carefully due to the carbonation built up.
Fruit Flavor Water Kefir
Fruit is delicious and nutritious. There are so many ways to mix fruit into your diet on a daily basis. When it comes to using fruit to flavor water kefir, you can use fresh or dried fruit. To add fruit to your water kefir, you will first need to create a batch of water kefir. After fermenting, remove the water kefir grains. If you want to use fresh fruit, you will need to change the fruit out every twenty-four hours. If you want to use dried fruit, you don’t need to change it for this recipe. You will need to check your fruit flavor water kefir daily and stop the fermentation process once it reaches the right flavor for you. This could take anywhere from one day to seven days. Once the flavor is right for you, remove the fruit from the water kefir and discard. Refrigerate the fruit flavored water until it is chilled completely before serving.
Grape Flavored Water Kefir
If you want to enjoy a grape flavored drink, try this recipe. Place your kefir grains into one quart of organic grape juice. Allow it to ferment for twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Remove the kefir grains and chill it in the refrigerator before serving.
Coconut Flavor Water Kefir
To get the taste of coconut into your water kefir, place the water kefir grains into 1 quart of coconut water. Allow the combination to ferment for 24-48 hours. Remove the kefir grains. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Water Kefir Infused with Herbs
If you love to sprinkle herbs into your diet whenever its possible, now you can add them to your water kefir too. You can use dried herbs or fresh herbs for this recipe. First, complete the water kefir ferment process. Remove the kefir grains. Meanwhile, bring 1 quart of water to a rolling boil. Add three-fourths cup of dried or fresh herbs to the water. Allow this mixture to sit and brew for six hours. Add it to the water kefir and refrigerate to chill.
